The grands crus of Saint-Émilion are aged in barrels and are available in bottles almost 2 years after the harvest.
En primeur sales consist of offering you the opportunity to buy wines while they are still in barrels.
The châteaux then offer them to you at preferential rates, knowing that they will increase in value very quickly and by at least 20% by the time the bottles are delivered.
